Cheap Windsor Hotels
As the southernmost city in all of Canada, you might expect both high-end and cheap hotels in Windsor to be plentiful throughout the area. Yet, what many might not realize is that even the high-end hotels in this part of Ontario can be extremely affordable. Windsor is just across the river from Detroit, which partly explains the cheap places to stay in Windsor. Windsor boasts a large tourism industry from the combination of the Caesars Windsor, one of the largest casinos in Canada, and Via Italia, a strip of restaurants and stores with a strong Italian theme running through the main part of the city. Look for Windsor cheap hotels near the strip because you'll spend plenty of time there.
The area also has a number of parks, sculpture gardens, and even museums dedicated to showcasing the city's history. Windsor was a major hub of the underground railroad and liquor exporting during American Prohibition. Perhaps somewhat surprisingly, Windsor also attracts a great deal of Eco-tourism. Between Windsor proper, surrounding Essex County, and Pelee Island, the community has ample gardens, natural landscapes, and riverfront areas that offer hiking and biking trails, lush campgrounds, and isolated verdant alcoves that many use for meditation. Windsor even includes huge fields of open land suitable for kite flying and impromptu sports games. Motocross bicyclists show off their skills to bypassers on spacious open areas with challenging dirt courses. Water enthusiasts also have a great time on the surrounding public waterways. All in all, Windsor has a little bit of everything for every visitor.
